Meet Wind: The Org Owner Who Blew $60K on Vatles Esports’ in One of the Wildest Moves in Esports History

4 min read

Once known as Wind, and now going by Lucid, the former Fortnite org owner behind Vatles Esports became infamous in the OCE scene for burning tens of thousands of dollars trying to buy relevance in Esports. After blowing through over $60,000 AUD, getting scammed, and drunkenly shutting down his own org, his story has become one of the most chaotic and talked-about collapses in the region's history.

From funding PCs for players, to paying pros just to queue with him, to livestreaming for donations, Lucid’s fall from "org owner" to meme is a crazy tale.

Lucid’s (then Wind's) spending was legendary, and mostly wasteful:

  • Paid Anon $12,000 AUD for a year of salary
  • Spent $400 AUD at McDonald's to buy the entire menu for Aspect, a pro Fortnite player
  • Covered a $20,000 AUD Airbnb for a weekend with Anon, Fisher and Aspect
  • Bought PCs pro players Protoon, Adzy, and others
  • Paid pro player Tiny $2,000 AUD just to play one Fortnite season with him
  • Bought a fake earnings account to appear more competitive
  • Bought Conzy, an OCE esports manager, a PS5 and a PC

A significant portion of Lucid’s spending remains unaccounted for, fueling the mystery and chaos around his financial management. It’s reported that over $60,000 AUD was poured into esports alone, coming from a $300,000 AUD inheritance from his mother. Wind is said to have spent every cent of that inheritance, leaving him with no savings or fallback as his esports ventures unraveled.

Even after the collapse of his org, Lucid continues to pay professional players to play games with him, maintaining an attempt at relevance within the scene.

Despite the massive spending, Vatles Esports never gained traction. The org's Twitter/X account barely broke 1,000 followers, and while it did post a few highlight videos and announcements, it lacked any real branding, vision, or identity. There was no cohesive presence.

Players like Mase and several others left early, reportedly after a disturbing incident with wind's drunk father. When word of the situation spread among the team, many players chose to distance themselves. While Wind believed the pros he signed were genuine friends, most were simply taking the money with no real loyalty to the org.

Eventually, he drunkenly ended Vatles, deleting everything and walking away with nothing but regret.

Lucid now runs TTS Esports, but it’s not a fresh start, it’s more of the same. The org is connected to known scammers, including figures like Riley (also known as Mythic, Toska) and Chris (also known as Red), who have a long history of spinning up teams for 1–2 weeks, disappearing, rebranding, and repeating the cycle under new names. TTS is just another stop in a long chain of shady, short-lived orgs.

Today, Lucid’s main activity is streaming on TikTok, where he regularly displays his BSB and account number on-screen asking for donations.

Lucid’s downfall wasn’t just bad decisions, it also involved betrayal and scams:

  • Lost over $60,000 AUD through spending, gambling, and being scammed
  • Was allegedly scammed by Kyat, a former Twitch streamer, for between $20,000–$50,000 AUD
  • Allegedly stole custom esports contracts, which were then distributed without proper authorization
  • Allegedly, a personal family incident involving Lucid’s drunk father was weaponized by Kyat to blackmail him and extract money

What began as an overly ambitious push into Fortnite esports turned into a disaster of mismanagement, broken trust, and financial ruin. Now known as Lucid, Wind's legacy is remembered not for success, but for how quickly it all fell apart.

From funding Fortnite pros and crying after a weekend in a $20,000 AUD Airbnb, to TikTok donation streams, wind's story is one of OCE esports’ most chaotic stories of all time.
