Epic Games has announced a massive shake-up to Fortnite’s competitive scene heading into 2026, bringing new formats, series, and prize pools.
The flagship Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) will officially return to the Duos format in 2026. This change brings back one of the community’s most requested modes, giving players the chance to showcase teamwork and chemistry at the highest level once again.
A complete rework of Fortnite’s ranked system is coming with Ranked 2.0. While Epic hasn’t shared all details yet, the update promises a fairer progression system, improved matchmaking, and clearer rewards for competitive players.
Mobile players are finally getting their own spotlight with the launch of the Fortnite Mobile Series, featuring a massive $1,000,000 prize pool. This marks the biggest step Epic has taken to bring mobile competition back into the global spotlight.
Epic is also adding a brand-new FNCS Mid-Season LAN, giving players more chances to compete on stage in front of live audiences. This addition means FNCS competitors won’t have to wait until the Global Championship to experience international LAN action.
Another fresh addition is the Reload Elite Series LAN, a competitive circuit tied to Fortnite’s popular Reload mode. The series aims to provide a new path for emerging talent to break into the pro scene.
Following the overwhelming success of the 2025 FNCS Global Championship LAN, which featured the most active and electric crowd Fortnite has ever seen, Epic has confirmed that LAN competitions will officially return to Europe in 2026. The energy and passion from fans at this year’s event set a new standard for live Fortnite competitions, convincing Epic to bring major tournaments back to the region.
The beloved Pro-Am format will also return, pairing pro players with celebrities and influencers in a fan-favorite competition that mixes skill with entertainment.
With all these additions, 2026 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting years in Fortnite’s competitive history. Between new formats, bigger prize pools, and the long-awaited return of international LANs, Epic Games is signaling a renewed commitment to the future of Fortnite esports.
