The Quiet Disappearance of the x2Twins

For years, Jesse and Jordan Eckley, better known as the x2Twins, were the face of Fortnite in Oceania. The Australian brothers built their legacy through high-energy gameplay, creative challenges, and competitive dominance. By 2020, they weren’t just OCE stars. They were global names, with over 6.6 million YouTube subscribers, 3.2 million Twitch followers, and 2.5 million TikTok fans tuning in to watch them push Fortnite’s limits.

Rising From OCE to the World Stage

The x2Twins’ rise began in 2018, shortly after Fortnite’s boom. Their competitive success and chemistry as twins made them standout figures. Jesse’s 1st-place finish at the 2019 Australian Open Fortnite Summer Smash cemented their place in the scene, while their consistent grind of over 1,000 videos kept their audience hooked. Collaborations with creators like Fresh and Aussie Antics expanded their reach even further, bringing OCE Fortnite into the global spotlight.

The Silence After the Grind

Their activity started slowing down in late 2023.

  • Their last YouTube video dropped on June 27, 2023, with no new full uploads since.
  • On Twitter, their final post came May 28, 2024, a simple “24 🎉” birthday message.
  • By September 2025, both accounts have been silent for 16 months, with no streams, stories, or major content anywhere.

The main reason, according to fan theories and creator commentary, is burnout. After nearly a decade of constant uploads dating back to 2014 before Fortnite even existed, the duo openly admitted the pressure of daily content and competition was unsustainable.

Rumors and Misinformation

Their silence sparked bizarre speculation. In November 2024, a TikTok falsely claimed the twins had died from “heart failure due to sweating too hard in Fortnite.” The rumor went viral, amassing millions of views and even being picked up by international outlets before being debunked. Content creators and fans quickly clarified the twins were alive, just taking an extended break.

Still, rumors continue into 2025, with videos titled things like The SAD End of the x2Twins feeding off their absence.

Fans Still Waiting

Despite the silence, the community hasn’t forgotten them. Posts tagging @x2Twins pop up regularly, often asking “what happened?” or sharing nostalgic clips. Yet as of now, there’s no official word of a comeback.

For now, the x2Twins’ story stands as a rare case: two creators who stepped back at the height of their success. Whether they return to Fortnite, pivot to a new venture, or stay in the shadows, their impact on OCE Fortnite is undeniable.
