PAX Australia 2025 Is Just Weeks Away, Here’s What to Expect This Year

PAX Australia 2025 is almost here, running from Friday, October 10 to Sunday, October 12 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) in South Wharf. With less than three weeks to go, tickets are moving fast. Friday and Sunday badges are still available, but numbers are limited.

As Australia’s biggest gaming festival, PAX Aus is a three-day celebration of gaming culture, bringing together everything from indie gems to blockbuster titles. The expo hall will feature hands-on demos, exclusive reveals, and merch from major names like Nintendo, Xbox, The Sims, Devolver Digital (with Massive Monster), Bethesda, Gearbox, Ubisoft, and Aftershock. The show floor runs from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily, giving attendees plenty of time to explore.

The full schedule, released this week, packs in hundreds of sessions across nine theaters. Visitors can expect panels, esports tournaments, live concerts, and community meetups covering topics from game design and storytelling to competitive play. Standout events include:

  • Storytime with Gavin Verhey – a must for Magic: The Gathering fans.
  • Fireside Chat with Joshua Mills – insights from the Rainbow Six Siege director, plus an Intel esports panel.
  • Special guests – appearances from Fallout and Pillars of Eternity designer Josh Sawyer, Lis Moberly, comedians, voice actors, and creators, alongside live shows like the Back Pocket comedy set.
  • Bonus moments – a Baldur’s Gate 3 fireside chat, hidden photo ops, and after-hours networking.

For many attendees, PAX is also about community. The event has become a hub for meeting online friends in person, giving players, creators, and fans a chance to connect face-to-face after years of sharing games and conversations online.

Whether you’re into competitive play, cosplay, or just chasing the festival buzz, PAX Aus is shaping up to be an unmissable weekend. For the best experience, organisers recommend downloading the official app for real-time updates, as panel times can change quickly.
