PWR’s Making of a Champion Series Shines a Spotlight on OCE Esports Talent

PWR, the Australian esports and content creation giant founded by Lachlan Power (LachlanYT), has released its first ever documentary series Making of a Champion. The three-part series, which premiered in June 2025 on the PWR YouTube channel, pulls back the curtain on the world of competitive gaming with a special focus on PWR’s Fortnite team and their journey through the biggest esports stages of 2024.

Behind the Scenes of PWR

Backed by Screen Australia, the series gives fans an authentic look into what it takes to succeed in esports. Across three episodes, viewers see the highs, lows, and daily grind of young OCE pros chasing global recognition, while highlighting the “family” bond that defines the PWR brand.

Lachlan described the project as a way to “delve into what this world looks like,” showcasing the exponential growth of the gaming industry since his early YouTube days.

Episode Guide

  • Episode 1: The Reality of Esports
    Premiered June 26. Introduces PWR’s Fortnite roster and creators, featuring early stories like Alex Richmond’s rise as Australia’s top player. Narrated by Aussie Antics.
  • Episode 2: OCE Against the World
    Premiered June 28. Follows PWR’s run at the 2024 Esports World Cup in Riyadh, capturing underdog moments, international pressure, and insights from Loserfruit.
  • Episode 3: PWR Goes Global
    Premiered June 30. Chronicles Alex and Worthy’s road to the FNCS Global Championships, highlighting the strategies, setbacks, and emotions of competing at the highest level.

The People Behind the Story

The docuseries features not only the PWR roster Alex, Worthy, Looter, Volx but also industry voices like Loserfruit, LazarBeam, and Aussie Antics. Lachlan serves as executive producer, alongside a strong production team led by director Oliver Marshall.

Screen Australia’s Louise Gough praised it as “a compelling documentary… wrapped up in a story of camaraderie, competition, and family.” Meanwhile, YouTube Australia’s Ed Miles highlighted its role in inspiring “the next generation of storytellers.”
